Senior Lead Officer
|
The University of San Diego - Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership (LEPSL) graduate program has enabled me to focus on critical issues in modern criminal justice, institutional assessment and change, ethical and effective leadership, and 21st century knowledge and skills. This area of focus and research has enabled me to expand my understanding of the complexities and opportunities that policing will be challenged within today's climate.
Professional Experience & Training
The Los Angeles Police Department is considered one of the top police agencies in the nation. The opportunity for quality training that our sworn personnel are provided with is exceptional and on the cutting edge of modern policing principles. I started with the LAPD in 1994 and have worked in a variety of assignments. Currently as a Senior Lead Officer, I serve as a problem solving role in the community. Public safety and community outreach are of paramount importance as we serve our neighbors.
Community Engagement
The Guardian model of policing is vital as we continue to engrain trusting relationships with our community partners. Bridging policing and our diverse community is essential in collaboratively building programs for our youth in communities of color.
"A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. He does not set out to be a leader, but becomes one by the equality of his actions and the integrity of his intent."
—Douglas MacArthur
